Running Ink Press began with a free online magazine titled Forever Nocturne and under the name Full Moon Press. We’ve grown since then and have moved into book publication, which was always our intent to begin with.
The genres we will publish are all things horror to include urban fantasy and the paranormal and supernatural; all sub-genres of romance to include erotica—historical or contemporary—and paranormal romance; fantasy; epic fantasy; and our personal favorite, Modern Gothic Horror Romance. MGHR is our own blend of genres that carries elements of each genre set in the modern world. We love stories that revolve around vampires, werewolves, the supernatural, and all those things that go bump in the night. But we also like a little romance added to the story now and then. Now, add a touch of H.P. Lovecraft, and we’ve got ourselves a new genre. Go ahead and try it out. It’s fun!
What we’re essentially telling you is that we don’t stick to the traditional rules of the industry, and we’re certainly not going to ask you to do so. Don’t be afraid to break the rules. We want you to tell the story from your heart, or allow the story to speak for itself rather than trying to contain it within a box. Set your characters free and see what happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but you’ll never know until you try.
Running Ink Press is run by two friends—Sharon Gerlach and Jinxie G—who met online several years ago in a writing community. Through good times and bad, their friendship has remained strong.
